What is Y-City Scuba?
That's a good question. When I decided I wanted to learn to scuba dive, the closest place to learn to dive was in Columbus. That's quite a drive for regular folks to make. I meet people all the time who say "I'd love to learn to dive, where can I go?" Then when I tell them Columbus is the closest place, they groan.
So, I started Y-City Scuba to share my passion for diving here in Zanesville OH and the surrounding East Central Ohio area. Having Y-City Scuba in your area makes getting started much easier.
What we are is a Scuba Training organization. We are not a dive shop....yet. Baby steps. Although we do have discount relationships with online scuba shops that we are happy to share with our students. We also recommend Columbus Scuba Inc. as a place to shop for all your dive gear needs.

For certified divers looking for additional training, Y-City Scuba offers several specialty certifications. We cannot provide technical training at this time. However, if you're looking for specialty certifications that require a specialty instructor certification to teach or technical training, we highly recommend that you contact Andy Silverman at Columbus Scuba Inc. as your source for advanced training. www.columbusscuba.com or call 612-500-PADI (7234)

You've Taken the "Plunge"
So who is this guy?
I'm married, have kids, a day job, to put it simply, I'm just like you. Just a regular person who decided one day he wanted to learn to scuba dive. So, like you I took the plunge too. Now, I'm a PADI Open Water Instructor.
I finished my PADI Open Water certification in May of 2014 in a cool place called Ginnie Springs, Florida. A place you may dive one day. The photo on the left was taken near there a year later. I did my Open Water training with Columbus Scuba Inc. In fact, I've done all my training with CSI and I am still a CSI Staff Instructor.
I spent the summer of 2014 diving...a lot, and advancing my training. I knew very early after my initial certification that I wanted to teach diving. I completed my PADI Divemaster certification in May of 2015 and spent the next two summers diving and working with students just like you.
