PADI Discovery Programs

You've come this far because you know you're interested in learning to dive yet you;re just not sure about jumping in with both feet. No problemo. What if I told you that you could try scuba in a pool to 'test the waters'? That's what the PADI Discovery Progam is all about.

For just $42.50, you can spend up to an hour and a half scuba diving in a pool.  Then once you've 'discovered' how fun and easy it is, you'll have a head start on your Open Water Certification training.  Here's how it works.

If you're 10 years old or older, Y-City Scuba will get you geared up and in the water for an afternoon or evening of fun and discovery. You see, scuba diving is really easy. You don't have to be taught how to breath underwater. Your nose is covered by your mask, so all you have to do is breath normally through your mouth.  It's really that easy.

Now don't misunderstand, while breathing underwater is very easy, you're still underwater and there are a few basic skills you need to learn before you start swimming around.  In about half an hour, you will learn and practice these skills. Then under my watchful eyes, you will experience the joy of scuba.

PADI also has a program tailored specifically for children called the Bubblemaker program. This program, developed specifically for 8 and 9 year olds provides the same opportunity for children to experience the joy of scuba.

The price is the same ($42.50) for the basic discovery, however PADI offers a special Crew Pack full of goodies for the young diver if desired. The cost of the extra Crew Pack is $40 and makes for a great memento of the experience.
